Ich habe den System File Checker verwendet um mein System auf Fehler zu untersuchen doch noch bevor etwas passiert ist habe ich folgende Fehlermeldung erhalten.

Ich bin mir nun nicht sicher was ich tun soll und ob mein updater beschädigt ist oder nicht und ob ich nun eine andere quelle für die möglicherweise beschädigten Dateien brauche.

 

After upgrade from 8.1 - How to remove hundreds of dead shortcuts in All apps menu which are falsly recognised as "universal apps" entries (originating from one older "Desktop app" ) ?

After an upgrade from 8.1 (using the Media creation tool) my "All apps" list in the start menu is showing as usual a mix of "universal apps" and "desktop apps" where for desktop apps the file path of the shortcuts can be opened in the explorer by right clicking
which is (as usual) not the case for universal apps. However one folder appears in the list containing a large number of useless shortcuts which seem to be falsly recognised as universal apps.


The falty shortcuts show symbols and names of text files, pdfs and other files which belong to an installation of a large older program ("desktop app") that had been installed in Windows 8.1. Nothing happens upon clicking on them. A right click shows only
the "pin to start" option as for universal apps.



The highly inconvenient consequence seems to be that for a number of other desktop programs that are installed and used frequently no shortcuts appear in the list supposedly due to to the limit of 512. These shortcuts can still be found
in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.

I believe the faulty shortcuts were already shown in the all apps list of windows 8.1 but it never bothered me because I could still find all other desktop programs in it. Uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app is not an option here and I am afraid
it may not even solve the problem. How can I get rid of this annoyance? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Apart from this issue I am fairly satisfied with windows 10.

 

Sync "Play me" Selection

Hi, Senajs. It's good to hear that you are enjoying the Play me feature of MixRadio. However, it is not possible to sync it on your Windows PC. Only the favorites list can be synced to once you sign in to MixRadio using a computer.

Connection to hosted WiFi not working properly

I've set up a hosted WiFi-Network on my Windows 7 Computer, where the PC (connected via Ethernet-Cable) works as a wifi-hotspot for other devices.
I did this according to the numerous guides on the Internet and it is working properly. (I successfully connected some other devices)

There's just the problem with my Windows Phone 8, as it

• either says "not able to connect"
• or connects for about 10 seconds and then disconnects again. (without actually obtaining a connection to the internet during that time)

The wifi as such works on the phone, as I can connect to other networks. Maybe it just has an issue with this local hotspot?

Anyone having similar issues? Or might there already be a solution for this?

 

C5: How to disable startsound

The startup animation cannot be disabled but try the following options to stop the sound:

1. Press the end call key (other keys may also work) just as the animation starts, it may skip it.

2. Put the phone in silent mode before you switch it off.

3. In your current profile disable the warning tones. This will however stop other sounds such as low battery or the sound in some java apps/games.

Hopefully one of those will help, if not then unfortunately you are stuck with it.

If you switch your phone off/on several times a day you may want to use offline mode instead of switching off. It's far kinder to the battery life and stops all form of communication/connectivity whilst in that mode.
